The Students of Color Conference is designed to strengthen awareness and knowledge within the context of social identity development; enhance skills that enable students to become more active proponents of their own education and life choices, and expand the opportunities and possibilities for students to become agents of change. Students learn critical thinking skills, develop networks of support, are exposed to diverse approaches to learning, and use cultural knowledge as a foundation for educational practice.
The goal of the conference is to provide a fun, educational experience that promotes leadership, cultural competency, and academic success. It is also important to us that we provide a safe environment for each participant. So the following is a summary of expectations for a successful conference.
